Secondary School

Secondary School

The Secondary School aims to be a center of academic excellence, offering our students the best national and international curriculum programs. Our school program in BMS Secondary equips our students with the necessary skills to succeed in university education and be active participants in an increasingly competitive, interconnected global society. We are proud of the university placement rate our students consistently obtain in securing their first or second university choice, gaining acceptance at leading universities both within Europe and globally. Indeed, many universities have sought after our students for admissions to their university programs, allowing us to establish partnerships with institutions around the world.

In partnership with dedicated and internationally qualified teachers, our students are active participants in their education. Diligence, curiosity, responsibility, independence, and respect are encouraged through school structures, both academic and pastoral, that allow our students the opportunity to acquire skills, knowledge and understanding through experience. Indeed, the foundation of our mission is ultimately to provide an educational environment that fosters the individual to find in themselves their potential and help them share their unique gifts with the rest of humanity.

We follow a preparatory program combining the local and international curriculum standards in Grades 7 and 8 leading to the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and the Mittlere Schulabschluss (MSA) in Grades 9 and 10, as well as the rigorous IB DP (Diploma Programme) in Grades 11-12. The curricula delivered at BMS are recognized internationally as academically demanding and challenging, and at the same time designed to develop the whole person.

The Secondary Afterschool Club Program offers a variety of opportunities for afternoon activities to our students in Grade 7-12. Clubs include arts and science, sports, kickboxing, yoga, as well as our very active Model UN Club. Each afternoon, our students take part in clubs selected at the beginning of the school year, instructed by their trusted teachers, and encouraged to expand their learning and individual development outside of traditional classroom learning.

Parallel to the delivery of a rigorous academic curriculum, a critical foundation stone of the Secondary School is the provision of a strong student support system. Our students are supported by key members of our student support team, by established school-wide policies, and a culture where trust, positivity, and empathy are paramount.
