Students & Student Leadership

Our students represent the very best aspect of our school. They are shaped by a liberal and highly international school culture and learning environment, in which they can develop as reflective, educated, open-minded, and responsible individuals. It is a joy to teach our students, to support them in their character development, and to stand by them as they develop their own future. Our learning environment and classroom instruction reflects the emerging societal themes and in turn, we provide an environment where both students and teachers can develop new perspectives and question the status quo. Our school community is characterized by a high degree of solidarity and trust, tolerance, and mutual responsibility for the school culture we develop each day together.

This sense of responsibility to peers, our community and our institution is a driving force in enabling our students to take on various roles in our school-wide student leadership teams. Elected by their peers in democratic elections, our students develop a campaign program and serve for one school year. They act as both mentors and role models to their peers and embody the characteristics, values, and ethical principles we seek to develop in our students.  The work closely with school leadership in realizing important goals, such as optimizing our school structure and routines, improving our learning environments, implementing social engagement activities, and organizing school events as part of our school culture.

Our leaders are important and trusted partners in school life and represent the interests and needs our students. Each role provides our students with the opportunity to learn how to manage responsibility, how to represent interests and perspectives, and how to manage decision-making tasks important to the larger student body
