About Us

BMS is the largest international school in the center of Berlin. Over 1,000 students from 65 countries attend our school and are taught using the best international and national curriculum programs at our BMS Campus in central Berlin. The Berlin Metropolitan School is an all-day school, allowing students from kindergarten through 12th grade to complete a modern, international education. The conception and development of our program is guided by a responsibility to offer our students the opportunity to achieve the best possible academic results, to become engaged with new worldviews and perspectives, and to inspire them to realize their own personal goals—creating a space where students can allow their talents ad interests to naturally unfold. We are deeply committed to providing our students with the skills, knowledge and values necessary in order to have a fulfilling and independent life. At the same time, we provide our students with the necessary support and guidance to develop their own sense of personal responsibility, with a high degree of self-motivation to achieve the best possible outcomes. We seek to motivate individuals who are open to new ideas, can reflect constructively on personal actions and choices, and who seek an active and positive role in our school culture.

BMS aims to be an effective partner for families and a faithful companion for our students during the course of their personal and academic development. BMS aligns itself to the needs of its students and families and in doing so, has created a contemporary school curriculum which carries our students not only through the entire developmental process, but also prepares them for future challenges and opportunities as well.

We offer our students a wide selection of subject choices in our curriculum programs as well as national and international school-leaving diplomas in Grades 10 and 12. Our comprehensive language program supports our students in the acquisition of both our school languages and selected additional languages of study. Our methodology focuses on providing our students with the skills to think critically, the ability to see the how in their learning, and to support a mindset which seeks to enjoy the learning process as a whole. An international team of 200 dedicated employees lead the way for the learning success of our students and the character development of each student from K-12.
