We would like to thank our BMS Gr. 1 Families for attending our 2024 Einschulung Ceremony, formally welcoming our first grade students to BMS. Einschulung is always a very special time for our faculty, staff, and parents, as we welcome our youngest Primary School students to the start of school.
Our annual creativity showcase celebrates the incredible talents of our students and allows our wider community to see our students first hand in action! Each year parrents, students, faculty and staff are able to enjoy theatrical performances, ancient Egyptian museum exhibitions, solo and duet musical performances, science experiments, and so much more. We are gearing up for a very special community celebration on July 4, 2024! Games, face painting, food trucks, BMS music stage, games and activities, and so much more will take place in our school building and in our courtyard. You won´t want to miss this event!
The Gr. 6 Exhibition Project represents the culmination of the PYP journey and encompasses the essence of what is means to be an inquiry-based learner. The exhibition is also the formal celebration and conclusion of the Primary School journey.Find a few impressions of the recent PYP exhibition below.
Our Gr. 6 students have used the last weeks to prepare for their PYP Gr. 6 Exhibition, representing the final presentation of their research and their time as Primary School students. Our community will listen to their presentations, celebrate their journey of inquiry, and above all, congratulate them on the successful conclusion of their time in Primary School.
Our Gr. 10 students will travel to Spain from June 17th-21st, coming together as a class to relax after their demanding IGCSE and MSA Examinations. The students will be participating in outdoor fun, including beach sports, swimming, and spending time with their grade level after months of intense study!
Our annual creativity showcase will take place on June 14th, celebrating student achievement, the artistic and creative engagement of our students, and offering our community the opportunity to celebrate our students. Save the date and watch this space for the full program.
Over 20 schools within Europe recently participated in the annual IRIS book awards, including BMS! Our BMS students voted for their favorite books and the results are in for this year´s award recipients. Congrats to the winners and hats off to our students for their engagement!
Primary school students had a day filled with games, relay races, and other fun competitive activities at our recent Sports Day. A massive thanks to our BMS Hawk Mascot for cheering on the teams and joining in the fun. Earth House was named champion and winner of Sports Day!
We are happy to announce the Class of 2024 Graduation on June 7, 2024, celebrating our Gr. 12 students and honoring this important milestone. We look forward to sharing a few impressions with our community!
Grade 6 students are busy organizing their research, conducting interviews, and preparing their presentations for our Gr. 6 PYP exhibition on June 11th and June 12th. The PYP exhibition is an important milestone for our students and marks the end of their time in Primary School—we look forward to celebrating their accomplishments!
Our Grade 8 students are busy visiting the workplaces and institutions of their parents, gaining valuable insight into their jobs, tasks, and making links between school and real-world experiences. Our students will create a short video based on their impressions and interviews. Stay tuned!
It´s that time of year again: it is spirit week in our Primary and Secondary school with lots of fun and engaging activities planned for the week. Our progress leaders in both schools have planned creative writing tasks, games and activities linked to our learner profile, and of course theme days with fancy dress and other fun costumes!
Our students are gearing up for our annual Sports Day on May 24th, featuring relay races, competitions between grades, and lots of other fun games. Stay tuned for the House Points outcomes!
Our Grade 9 students in Nuremberg are having a wonderful time, exploring the city´s rich history, having fun at a medieval dinner with their peers, and participating in a scavenger hunt through the city.
Our dedicated editorial team in Secondary School has just finalized the Spring Edition of the student magazine, The Berlingual. The Spring Edition looks at studying tips for exam season, travel tips on where to spend the May long weekends in and around Berlin, and how meme culture continues to influence pop culture and social trends. Hats off to Scarlett and Anouk, the co-editors of our student magazine.
Our Primary School students recently participated in the Berlin Peace Run, bringing together 5,000 students in Berlin who join in this yearly run to promote and raise funds for peace. Well done to our students and teachers who took part in the course beginning at Brandenburg Gate and running through a track in Tiergarten and surrounding area!
We would like to thank the Eco Ambassadors Elena, Sophia, Sofiia and Ms. Markham for their engagement during the Earth Day celebrations by planting an herb and flower garden in our school courtyard. These are wonderful reminders of our connection to Earth and a nice addition to our school campus!
Our Secondary students will soon depart for their annual camps, visiting different areas of Germany and Europe with their peers. Our Grade 9 students are the first to start, departing via train for Nuremburg on May 13th. Our students will participate in daily excursions aimed at exploring the historical sites in and around the city, outdoor fun, a planned medieval dinner
Our BMS Hawks have been busy showing their court skills in the recent Primary School Alba tournament, taking 3rd place in the team of Grade 1-3. We would like to congratulate them and look forward to updating the community with future outcomes! GO HAWKS!
Exam season is slowly upon us in the BMS Secondary School! Soon our incredible Grade 10 and Grade 12 students will complete their MSA, IGCSE, and DP exams over the course of the next weeks. We would like to wish our students the very best of luck on your examinations—we are all cheering for you on campus!
Members of our Primary student support and counseling team look forward to welcoming parents to the next BMS Parent Talk. The team will explain and provide practical strategies to use at home to encourage the development of pro-social behaviors, empathy, and cooperation in order to positively navigate friendships and solve conflicts.
We enjoyed celebrating and honoring Earth this week on campus, inviting 9 guest speakers from our parent community who spoke with Primary and Secondary students on topics such as sustainable fashion, microplastics in our environment, and how we can reduce plastic consumption with everyday habits and actions. Our school community is gearing up for Earth Day on April 22nd, featuring recited poems, activities, and other engaging opportunities to take action in preserving our wonderful planet. Watch this space for the program and planned activities!
