Secondary School

BMS Secondary School constantly aims to build an inclusive culture of learning that equips its students with the necessary skills to succeed in tertiary education and be active participants in an increasingly competitive inter-connected global society. Our student body is highly represented by the host country, as well as students globally, enriching the entire school community with exposure to different cultures and ways of thinking. In partnership with dedicated internationally qualified teachers our students are active participants in their education. Diligence, curiosity, responsibility, independence and respect are encouraged through school structures, both academic and pastoral, that allow our students the opportunity to acquire skills, knowledge and understanding through experience. Indeed, the foundation of our mission is ultimately to provide an educational environment that fosters the individual to find in themselves their potential and help them share their unique gifts with the rest of humanity.

The Secondary School aims to be a center of academic excellence that follows the Cambridge International Curriculum in Grades 6, 7 and 8 leading to the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) in Grades 9 and 10. The International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP) will provide the springboard for our future senior Grade 11 and 12 students to pursue tertiary and vocational pursuits. The curriculums delivered at BMS are recognized internationally as academically demanding and challenging, and at the same time designed to develop the whole person. The Secondary Co-Curricula Educational Program (CCEP) offers a variety of sporting, artistic and cultural opportunities for all students and takes full advantage of the schools fantastic central location and facilities. Parallel to the delivery of a rigorous academic curriculum a critical foundation stone of the Secondary School is the provision of a strong pastoral care system. Each student is monitored and assisted by an Advisor who plays an integral role in supporting each student to achieve their potential intellectually, academically and emotionally.

BMS, in its entirety, consists of a Pre-School, a Primary and a Secondary School. However, within the Secondary School there are two distinct learning sections – Middle Secondary for grade 6 to 10 and Senior Secondary for grades 11 and 12.
